Achill is now regarded as one of Europe’s best locations for diving. With safe, clean waters the area is a diver’s paradise, where wreck sites, wall sites, shelf and shallow sites can be explored. The waters around Achill provide for some of the best fishing to the eager angler, be it either fresh water or sea angling. For those who wish to cast their line in the waters of the Atlantic, Tony Burke is the man you are looking for, 098 47257/086-3211560. Tony offers a fishing trip to suit your needs and experience. He also caters for families or groups, who would like to catch a glimpse of the Basking Shark or the School of Dolphins that frequent the waters around Achill. And the harbour being a mere 2 minutes from our hotel, what excuse would one have?
Take in the breath taking views and explore the scenic peaceful countryside of Achill by foot. Choose a beach walk, a hill walk or a road walk. Climb the islands’ highest mountain, Slievemore (672m) or Croaghaun (668m). Discover the network of old roads cris-crossing Achill. Enjoy panoramic views, fresh air, or quiet rambles on the roads off the beaten track. Guided tours are also available.

- Ireland's newest outdoor multisport event -
The race will be held on the magical and beautiful Achill Island on Saturday 12th September 2009.
It is a multisport event designed to cater for both experienced and lesser experienced sports people and also those with a specialist discipline such as running, biking, swimming or paddling.
The categories for the Achill Roar are:

Expert Solo
Expert Relay Teams
Relay teams can be composed of either 2 or 3 persons sharing the 3 disciplines.
